Veteran comedian Sathiya, made a heartfelt return during the Muzikal Lawak Superstar Season 5 (MLS5) finale after a long break due to serious health issues including diabetes complications that led to the amputation of his left leg.
As a special guest with Team Roda, which features a talented lineup of comedians including Fad Bocey, Sharif Zero, and Naqiu, along with the charismatic Sathiya, he delivered a remarkable comedic performance that captivated the audience. Their entertaining act was so well-received that it secured them the second prize of RM75,000. He made a grand entrance onto the stage riding a three-wheeled motorcycle, igniting a wave of enthusiastic applause and cheers from the crowd, who were excited to see the unique combination of humor and creativity.
Sathiya, who rose to fame through Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu, said he joined MLS5 simply to bring joy to fans who missed his spontaneous humour. Although he admitted that his health and stamina are no longer the same, he remains grateful to still be welcomed after more than four decades in the industry.
Recently, Sathiya also impressed audiences nationwide with his performance in the Malaysian movie, Irudhi Strike directed by Saresh D7 which earned praise for showcasing his emotional depth on screen. Despite his health challenges, Sathiya remains optimistic and thankful for the strong support of his family and he said he will continue performing as long he is able.
