Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Chembong in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, has been officially selected by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) strengthening holistic youth development within the local community.
In a statement, KBS announced that the initiative will be carried out through the Negeri Sembilan Youth and Sports Development, working in collaboration with the Rembau District Education Office, Chembong National Youth Skills Institute (IKTBN), and the Rembau District Youth Council. The partnership underscores the ministry’s commitment to bringing meaningful, community-driven programs directly to schools.

The adoption programme will encompass both physical and non-physical improvements designed to enhance the school environment and support student development. On the physical side, KBS will upgrade and refurbish the school’s Resource Centre, turning it into a more conductive and inspiring space for learning.
Beyond infrastructure, the initiative will focus on non-physical projects centred around youth services, social activities, volunteerism, education, and sports, creating a well-rounded ecosystem that encourages active participation and personal growth among students.
“This programme aims to inspire the Ladang Chembong community by encouraging ongoing activities focused on sports, education, and volunteerism, and an active lifestyle,” KBS said.

The ministry added that the MADANI Adopted School initiative is aligned with national efforts to empower communities through sustainable development practices, and values championed under the Malaysia MADANI framework. By prioritizing engagement, inclusivity, and long-term community empowerment, the programme aims to cultivate a positive ripple effect beyond the school grounds.
With SJKT Ladang Chembong now part of the MADANI Adopted School ecosystem, KBS hopes the model will spark greater youth involvement, offer wider opportunities for growth, and strengthen the spirit of community in Rembau and beyond.
