History was created once again as Sakthi School of Yoga successfully organised the Largest Malaysian International Yoga Competition 2025 at Wisma City Kingdom, Seremban, bringing together more than 1,800 participants from Malaysia, Singapore, and India.

Founded by SK Durai, Anuradha, and Mahaletchumy, Sakthi School of Yoga has been a strong pillar in preserving and promoting the ancient art of yoga. Established in 2016 by long -term yoga practitioners SK Durai and Anuradha, the institution was built on the vision of sharing yoga as a holistic pathway to physical mental and spiritual well-being for all. Since it’s inception, the school has achieved numerous milestones, including a significant national  achievement in 2024, when it entered the Malaysian Book of Records with 5,368 participants during International Yoga Day. Over the years, Sakthi School of Yoga has successfully nurtured and produced many yoga teachers and students across Malaysia and internationally, marking a journey of consistent growth and excellence.

Continuing this legacy, the Largest Malaysian International Yoga Competition 2025 was held with great enthusiasm and professionalism. The event opened with a powerful and electrifying Tappu Melam performance, energising the audience and setting a vibrant tone for the competition.

Participants from special needs, children, teenagers, adults and senior citizen categories demonstrated remarkable dedication by performing 3 yoga asanas from different categories within a two-minute timeframe, holding each posture for a minimum of 5 seconds. Judging was conducted based on stability, level of difficulty, execution, facial expression, and smooth entry and exit of each asana, ensuring fairness and high standards.

The success of the event was made possible through the tireless efforts of more than 150 volunteers, including SSOY teachers and students, whose commitment and teamwork played a crucial role in the smooth execution of the competition. The event stood as a true celebration of unity, perseverance, inclusivity and the spirit of yoga.

“This platform is about cultivating discipline, self-growth, inclusivity, and unity. Yoga transcends age, ability, race, and nationality—it is a universal language that brings humanity together as one harmonious community, not merely about winning titles or medals”, said Master SK Durai.

Sakthi School of Yoga reaffirmed it’s commitment to continuing it’s mission of promoting yoga as a way of life and fostering social harmony through future initiatives and international platforms.
