A home in Taman Teluk Molek, Teluk Air Tawar, has transformed into more than just a festive attraction this Christmas, it has become a living symbol of Malaysia’s multicultural harmony, kindness, and togetherness.
Radiating color, warmth and celebration, the open-home display created by couple D. Charles, 53, and S.Christe, 48. Features dazzling lights, a charming snowman, Santa Claus, artificial snow, and a towering 10-foot Christmas tree decorated with glowing ornaments. What began as a simple family celebration has now grown into a community tradition that draws thousands.

Encouraged by overwhelming support last year, the couple once again opened their home to the public from early December. This year, they invested nearly RM25,000, up from RM15,000 previously to upgrade decorations with safer, more modern elements. The response has been incredible, with an estimated 100 to 300 visitors daily, totaling close to 10,000 people to date including locals, Malaysians from other states, and even tourists from Japan, Hong Kong, Russia, and Western countries.
Christe, an accountant, said many visitors arrived not only for photos but to share heartfelt moments, with some even bringing small gifts in appreciation. For the couple, who share the celebration with their 21-year-old son, C. Dohnaven, Christmas decorations are a reflection of love, unity, and family values, and a way to spread joy beyond their walls.

“Last year, many visitors came dressed in Christmas-themed outfits, including Santa costumes. Some even brought food and gifts to share,” said Charles.
Charles, a contractor, shared that social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook helped the house go viral, attracting people of all races, religions, and backgrounds. Despite traveling to Europe for Christmas, the couple has ensured the home remains open from 6PM to midnight daily until 2nd January, with their son managing the lights and snow effects.
In a country defined by diversity, this glowing home stands proudly as a reminder that celebrations shared, no matter the festive season, bring hearts closer and keep Malaysia’s spirit of unity shining bright.
