Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to cherish and defend the nation’s spirit of unity, compassion, and mutual respect, reminding citizens that true harmony must be intentionally built, not merely hoped for.

In his Christmas Message, Dato Anwar acknowledged that the world continues to face economic uncertainty, humanitarian conflicts and widening social divisions. Against this backdrop, he said Malaysia must remain steadfast in choosing dialogue, respect and togetherness as the basis for shaping it’s future.

He emphasised that the MADANI Government believes unity is nurtured through fair governance, equal opportunity and policies that protect every citizen regardless of race, faith or background. True cohesion, he said, is achieved when every Malaysian feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute to the nation.

He also highlighted that Malaysia’s strength continues to lie in it’s diversity, calling on the public to reject hatred and intolerance while nurturing empathy and understanding, especially in a multiracial and multireligious society.

“On the occasion of this Christmas celebration, let us strengthen our resolve to reject hatred and cultivate empathy, for Malaysia’s strength lies in unity in diversity,” he said, extending warm Christmas greetings to Christians nationwide.

Dato Anwar concluded by wishing all celebrating Malaysians a meaningful Christmas filled with peace, harmony, and prosperity, reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguarding unity as a cornerstone of the nation’s future.
