Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan appears poised to make her Hindi cinema debut with an ambitious new project, as she is set to co-star alongside Ranveer Singh in the upcoming zombie film ‘Pralay’. The project marks a significant step in Kalyani’s expanding pan-Indian career following the success of Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra.
Pralay is being mounted as a large-scale zombie film set in a post-apocalyptic world, with a strong emphasis on world-building and genre-driven storytelling. The film will be directed by Jai Mehta, best known for the thriller Lootere and for his work as co-director on the critically acclaimed series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. This venture signals Mehta’s foray into high-concept commercial cinema.
While details about the extended cast and technical crew remain under wraps, the film is expected to go on floors around July or August this year. If confirmed, Pralay would mark Kalyani’s first appearance in a Hindi feature film, adding another language to her growing filmography.
On the Tamil cinema front, Kalyani continues to maintain a strong presence, with two notable films in the pipeline, Genie and Marshall. With Pralay, the actor is expected to further strengthen her position across industries, as the film promises a fresh genre outing and a high-profiled collaboration.
