The much-anticipated Jana Nayagan, billed as Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, will no longer release on it’s previously announced date of 9th January, 2026. The update was officially shared by Malik Streams Corporation, citing unforeseen circumstances behind the delay.
According to the announcement, the initial release has been postponed to a later date, with further clarity expected once updates are received from the production team. While the new release date is yet to be confirmed, audiences have been assured that all information will be communicated only through authorised platforms.
The statement also emphasised the need for patience and positivity during this period, urging fans and supporters to refrain from engaging with unverified or misleading information from unofficial sources. With several arrangements still underway, the postponement appears to be part of a larger effort to ensure that all aspects surrounding the release are aligned before moving forward.

Jana Nayagan has been one of the most closely watched projects in recent times, carrying immense emotional weight as Vijay’s final on-screen outing. Expectations around the film have been steadily building, making the postponement a moment of pause for fans eagerly counting down to it’s release.
For now, the focus remains on a calm and responsible wait, as the stakeholders work towards a positive resolution. Updates on the revised release date are expected to follow once plans are finalised.
Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain.
