Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will begin the first phase of a major restructuring exercise involving selected bus routes in the Klang Valley on 16th January, as part of it’s efforts to enhance service efficiency, reliability and passenger experience.
In a statement, the company said 19 routes, comprising 16 MRT feeder bus routes and three Rapid KL bus routes, will be fully converted to the Rapid KL On-Demand service. The move follows consistency low daily passenger numbers on these routes, coupled with the availability of alternative travel options through the on-demand service.
According to Rapid Bus, the affected routes make up about seven per cent of the total 281 bus routes currently managed under Rapid KL, including MRT and LRT feeder services.
Rapid Bus acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said the decision was informed by findings from the Demand-Led Bus Network Study, a data-driven planning exercise based on actual passenger usage patterns that has been conducted since mid-2024.

“The restructuring is carried out based on low daily passenger numbers, as well as the availability of alternative options through the Rapid KL On-Demand service along the affected routes,” he said.
Several MRT feeder routes in the northern parts of Kuala Lumpur will be affected. Routes T111, T112 and T113 serving Sri Damansara, Metro Prima and Kepong will be replaced by new services linking Metro Prima Station to Taman Beringin and Taman Bukit Maluri or Taman Sri Sinar. Route T118 from Sri Delima Station to Taman Kok Doh will be replaced with a service connecting Sri Delima Station to Sri Segambut, while T119 from Kentonmen Station to the Segambut Industrial Area will be replaced by a Kentonmen Station-Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) route.
In the southern Klang Valley, routes such as T454 between Bukit Dukung Station and Kampung Sungai Sekamat, and T456 from Sungai Jernih Station to Saujana Impian, will be replaced with service serving Sungai Sekamat and Taman Puncak Saujana respectively. Routes in Putrajaya, including T508, T510 and T512, will be consolidated around key locations such as Putrajaya Sentral Station, Precinct 11 and the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC)
Routes serving Serdang and Bukit Jalil, T562, T563, and T564, will be replaced with service linking Serdang Raya Utara Station to Pavillion Bukit Jalil. In the city centre, routes T819, and T820 from Semantan to KL Sentral and Menara DBKL will be replaced by service serving Kuala Lumpur’s central business district.
Meanwhile, route DS01, which operates during peak hours between Ampang Station and KLCC, will be replaced by Route 300 from Pandan Indah to Lebuh Ampang. Route 191 from Taman Sri Segambut to Chow Kit Monorail will be replaced by multiple alternatives services, including routes connecting Sri Delima Station to Sri Segambut, Kentonmen Station to MITEC, Titiwangsa Station to Chow Kit, as well as service into the city centre.
Route 451 between Kajang Station and Putrajaya Sentral will also be replaced by several alternatives, including Rapid KL route T569, services to Putrajaya Sentral precincts, PICC and Bangi-UNITEN.
Rapid Bus said the transition is aimed at creating a more flexible and demand-responsive public transport network, while ensuring commuters continue to have access to reliable alternatives through the Rapid KL On-Demand service.
