Minnal FM, a radio station that has long been an integral part of the Indian community’s daily life in Malaysia, has officially unveiled a refreshed brand identity, signaling a renewed commitment to relevance, connection and community-driven broadcasting.

The rebranding introduces a refreshed visual identity, updated broadcasting concept and a revamped programme structure designed to better reflect contemporary listener preferences, while remaining firmly rooted in Minnal FM’s local values and long-standing bond with it’s loyal audience.

Behind much of this transformation is Kumaran Subramiam, Manager of Minnal FM, who played a key role in initiating and steering the rebranding process. His vision and leadership were central to shaping the station’s new direction, balancing modernisation with the station’s established cultural identity.

The new look is accompanied by refreshed segment titles, and flagship programmes that promise greater variety, stronger informational value and enhanced entertainment. In tandem with this, Minnal FM is adopting a stronger digital-first approach, leveraging social media, and streaming platforms to engage young listeners and extend it’s reach beyond radio.

As part of this revamp, the station has also introduced a new programme schedule, with updated titles that reflect the evolving tone and content of it’s broadcasts. Morning show ‘Kaalai Kathir’ now becomes Vanakkam Minnal (6.00AM-10.00AM), while Ullasam Utchagam transitions to Imalai Ullasam (10.00AM-1.00PM). Afternoon programming sees Ennanggal Vannangal rebranded as Isaiyum Isaiyum (1.00PM-4.00PM), followed by Anantha Thenkaatru, now known as Theera Isai (4.00PM-8.00PM).

Evening and late-night slots have also been refreshed, with Natchatira Megam renamed Kaatrin Mozhi (8.00PM-12.00AM), and overnight programming consolidated under Minnalin Idai Vida Isai (12.00AM-6.00AM).

Through this rebranding, Minnal FM aims to strengthen it’s position as a trusted source of entertainment and information for the Indian community in Malaysia, while opening new avenues for engagement in an increasingly digital media landscape. The transformation reflect not just a new look, but a renewed promise to stay relevant, inclusive, and closely connected to the voices of it’s listeners.
