Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) M. Ravi was appointed as the new District Police Chief of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on January 16, 2026, last Friday.
ACP M. Ravi takes over the leadership from Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Azman Shari’at, who has been promoted and reassigned as the Deputy Director of Management (Training/Examinations/Competency) at Bukit Aman, the Royal Malaysia Police Headquarters.

The appointment ceremony was held at the KLIA District Police Headquarters (IPD KLIA) and was witnessed by the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, along with senior officers and members of the KLIA police force.
During the event, ACP M. Ravi emphasized the importance of cooperation between the police and the media. He urged journalists to publish accurate and verified information and to check with the police first if they encounter any doubtful or unclear information before reporting it publicly.

“I hope that all members of the media will work closely with us and share truthful news. If there is information that seems doubtful, please verify it with the police first before publishing,” said ACP M. Ravi shortly after the handover ceremony.
Datuk Shazeli Kahar expressed strong confidence in ACP M. Ravi’s leadership, highlighting his experience and ability to continue and improve the performance of the KLIA Police District. He also encouraged the public to support the new police chief in fulfilling his duties and responsibilities, particularly in ensuring security and public order around the KLIA complex and terminals.
