Actor Pradeep Ranganathan has sparked fresh excitement among fans after hinting at a possible sequel to him blockbuster film Dragon. The hint came as the coming-of-age comedy-drama completed one year since it’s theatrical release on 21st February 2025.
To mark the milestone, director Ashwath Marimuthu shared a celebratory post reflecting on the film’s success and his collaboration with Pradeep. Notably, the post ended with the line, “We will come back 2nd Time,” strongly suggesting a continuation of the story. Reporting the message, Pradeep added, “Friend to Director transition took some time for me. But now I have the best in both with me. Coming soon,” along with an image of two dragons, a visual cue that further fuelled sequel speculation.
Released to strong word-of-mouth, Dragon emerged as a massive box office hit and resonated with audiences for it’s relatable storytelling and humour. The film follows Raghavan, a college dropout who pretends to lead a successful professional life, only to find his carefully constructed lies unravel when his pats resurfaces. The film stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, K.S. Ravikumar, and George Maryan in key roles, and is currently streaming on Netflix.
On the work front, Pradeep was last seen in Dude, directed by Keerthiswaran, and is gearing up for Love Insurance Kompany, a sci-fi romantic comedy directed by Vignesh Shivan.
While no official announcement has been made, the reunion hints have left fans eagerly waiting for confirmation on Dragon 2.
