Dr. M Suraess Appointed to Three Key Global Roles in United World Martial Arts Federation

Dr Suraess Muthusamy, a respected medical practitioner and founder of GY Healthcare, has been appointed to three prominent international positions within the United World Martial Arts Federation (UWMAF), marking a significant milestone in his professional and leadership journey. 

In an social media post, Dr Suraess Muthusamy shared the official announcement by President of the United World Martial Arts (UWMAF). Dr. Suraess received a triple appointment following what the federation described as a thorough review of his distinguished career, integrity and mastery of both martial arts and medical sciences.

Effective immediately, Dr. Suraess has been named:

  • Member of the UWMAF Directing Committee, where he will contribute to shaping the strategic direction and future of martial arts at a global level.
  • President of the South East Asia UWMAF, leading one of the federation’s most culturally diverse and dynamic regions into a new phase of growth and unity.
  • Medical Head of the UWMAF, overseeing the health, safety, and physical well-being of martial arts practitioners worldwide.

In the congratulatory message, Executive Chairman Imtiaz Abdullah expressed “great honor and personal pride” in announcing the appointments, stating that the Global Board had reached a unanimous decision.

The federation highlighted Dr. Suraess’ unique ability to bridge “tradition and science,” noting that his background in both the martial and healing arts positions him well to take on responsibilities that require leadership, diplomacy, and medical expertise.

Beyond his international roles, Dr. Suraess is also active in Malaysian politics. He currently serves as Ketua Penerangan MIC Kedah and Timbalan Ketua MIC Padang Serai, further reflecting his involvement in community leadership and public service.

His triple appointment not only elevates Malaysia’s presence within the global martial arts fraternity but also underscores the growing recognition of Malaysian professionals on the international stage.
