National women’s doubles coach Rosman Razak has laid down a clear and uncompromising target for Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah, nothing less than the title at the All England Championships, scheduled to take place from 3rd March to 8th in Birmingham.
Rosman said the world No.2 women’s doubles pair must now embrace the weight of expectations, particularly at one of badminton’s most prestigious tournaments.
Living Up to Elite Status
The film stance reflects the duo’s growing stature on the international stage. Over the past year, Pearly-Thinaah reached six finals on the BWF World Tour, claiming three titles, in addition to winning gold at the Thailand SEA Games. They have also made a strong start to the 2026 season, capturing the Indonesian Masters title in January.
With such consistency, Rosman believes the pair are now firmly among the elite and should be aiming for major titles rather than settling for podium finishes.

Sharpening Form Ahead of Birmingham
In recent weeks, the paid have focused heavily on improving their physical capacity, an intense training phase that left them fatigued. Rosman said the emphasis has since shifted back to refining their on-court sharpness as preparations enter the final stretch ahead of the All England.
The coach acknowledged that while the ultimate goal is the title, the early rounds will play a crucial role in determining how far the pair can go.
He noted that the opening matches will allow Pearly-Thinaah to adapt to the hall conditions, shuttle speed, and opponents tactical variations, factors that are often decisive at the All England Championships.
With expectations firmly set and preparations intensifying, all eyes will be on Pearly-Thinaah as they head to Birmingham carrying Malaysia’s hopes of reclaiming one of badminton’s most coveted crowns.
