Dehradun’s hospitality landscape welcomes a new addition as Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts officially opens the doors to Le Meridien Dehradun Resort & Spa, marking the brand’s debut in the scenic city of Uttarakhand. Part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, the new resort is set along the tranquil Nun River, framed by the foothills of the Himalayas.
Positioned within the serene Doon Valley, the resort strengthens Dehradun’s standing as an emerging leisure hub and a gateway to some of North India’s most famous destinations, including Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Haridwar. Located just 45 minutes from Jolly Grant Airport and 15 minutes from Dehradun Railway Station, the property offers convenient access for both extended stays and onward journeys.
“At its heart, Le Meridien is about celebrating the destination, art and savouring the good life,” said Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International. He noted that the new opening reflects the brand’s philosophy of blending thoughtful design, local character and a slower pace of travel to create meaningful guest experiences.
Rooted in mid-century modern design, the 103-room resort features a calm and purposeful aesthetic inspired by Uttarakhand’s landscape and culture. Architectural elements reinterpret the iconic arches of the Forest Research Institute (FRI) through a contemporary lens, creating distinctive yet welcoming spaces. Guest rooms and suites overlook either the river or surrounding hills, combining nature-inspired palettes with modern amenities.
Culinary offerings at the resort celebrate both global flavours and regional influences. Riviera Cafe serves all-day dining with international favourites and specialties inspired by Uttarakhand’s cuisine. Longitude transitions from a modern coffee bar and gourmet bakery by day to a lively bar by night, while Aqua Current, the poolside bar, offers petit plates and refreshing beverages. Guests can also enjoy Le Scoop by Le Meridien, the brand’s signature gelato programme.
Wellness is a key focus at the property. The Explore Spa by Le Meridien incorporates Himalayan botanicals and elemental traditions into its treatments, including the Chakra Art Massage and Himalayan Hot Salt Poultice. A fully equipped fitness centre and outdoor pool further enhance the relaxation experience.
Families are also catered for through the Le Meridien Family Club, which offers hands-on activities such as pottery, pinecone painting, board games and croquet, as well as curated riverside picnics designed to foster shared moments.
In line with the brand’s Unlock Art programme, the resort has partnered with the Forest Research Institute, providing guests access to its museums, botanical collections and historic forestry exhibits, further connecting visitors with local culture and creativity.
“Dehradun has long been celebrated for its natural beauty, cultural depth, and unhurried pace of life,” said Saurabh Khanna, General Manager of Le Meridien Dehradun Resort & Spa. He added that the property was envisioned as a refined contemporary retreat that honours the spirit of the city while delivering the sophistication synonymous with the brand.
The opening of Le Meridien Dehradun Resort & Spa signals a new chapter for luxury hospitality in the region, blending art, culture and nature into a destination designed for travellers seeking both relaxation and meaningful connection.
