Passenger traveling to, from, or transiting through parts of the Middle East have been advised to check their latest flight status with airlines following airspace restrictions in certain areas of the region.
In a statement today, Malaysia Airports said the restrictions could lead to flight delays, rerouting or cancellations, depending on airlines safety assessment. Even where services continue to operate, flight schedules and route may be revised at short notice.
Passengers are therefore urged to verify their flight status directly with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.
Malaysia Airports noted that potential disruptions are not limited to direct services from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Travellers flying to affected Middle East destinations via alternative transit points outside the region may also face suspended or restricted onward services.

“Travellers are advised to verify the status of their entire journey, including connecting sectors, before making travel arrangements,” the statement said.
The airport operator added that the airport community, including airlines, grounded handlers, regulators and other stakeholders, is closely monitoring development. Airport teams are on standby to coordinate with airlines, provide guidance and assist affected passengers at the terminals.
Passengers are also encouraged to ensure their contact details are updated with airlines and to monitor official airline and airport communication channels for timely updates.
For information on passenger rights, travellers may refer to the Malaysia Aviation Consumer Protection Code under the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia. Malaysia Airports further advised passengers to consult official travel advisories issued by the Wisma Putra before travelling.
