A total of 901 Indian students and 14 Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) in Bagan Datuk, Perak were presented with educational assistance worth RM180,000 on 27 February 2026.
The funding was distributed by the office of the Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament, Dato’ Seri Dr Diraja Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. At the event held at Dewan Serbaguna Datuk Abdullah Ahmad in Hutan Melintang, Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reiterated that promoting education has been a priority of his leadership in Bagan Datuk.

He also emphasised that he have always focused on learning and education to improve the quality of life for the children of Bagan Datuk, regardless of ethnicity, religion or language.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s special officer, Arvend Appplasamy, the allocation included:
- RM100 each for 200 early education students
- RM100 each for 691 students from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT)
- Laptops for 10 Higher education students
- RM 2,000 each for 14 Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG)

This marks the fourth year of the programme, which has grown in scope to help more pupils and families with education-related costs. By expanding the reach of this assistance, organisers hope to ease the financial burden on parents and encourage greater access to learning opportunities for students across the community.
