Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Rantau has made history after being recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for installing the highest number of smart interactive boards in a Tamil school, marking a significant milestone in technology-driven education.

The recognition follows the installation of 14 units of 75-inch smart interactive panels across all classrooms at the school, benefiting more than 300 pupils, including preschoolers. The initiative aims to enhance digital learning and create a more engaging, interactive classroom environment.

The project was made possible through the contribution of Linsun Engineering Sdn Bhd, led by managing director Datuk M.Natarajen and operations director Datuk M. Satishkumar, both of whom are former pupils of SJKT Rantau. Their effort was widely praised as an example of meaningful community contribution and alumni giving back to their roots.

Former senator Datuk T.Mohan described the initiative as more than just a facilities upgrade, saying it represents a transformative step towards elevating the school’s educational standards. He encouraged students to make full use of the technology to improve their academic performance and aspire towards greater success.

The record presentation ceremony was witnessed by MBR representative Edwin Yeoh Tiong Chin, along with SJKT Rantau headmistress Mageswary Kesavan, members of the Parent Teacher Association and pupils.

Mageswary said the contribution would act as a catalyst in strengthening technology-based learning at the school. She noted that teachers are already well-equipped with digital skills, allowing lessons to be conducted in a more interactive, systematic and effective manner.

She added that the initiative aligns with the Ministry of Education Malaysia’s plan to introduce the Alam and Manusia (Nature and Humanity) subject with digital elements starting in 2027, reflecting broader efforts to nurture a digitally literate and competent generation of students.

With this achievement, SJKT Rantau sets a new benchmark for Tamil schools nationwide, highlighting how community support and technological investment can work hand in hand to reshape the future of education.
