AirAsia Warns Travelers of Fake Customer Service Scams Circulating Online

All travelers are being urged to stay vigilant as AirAsia cautions the public about fraudulent customer service scams, which is currently circulating on social media platforms. 

The airline has issued an advisory after online posts began spreading that a phone number falsely claiming to be an Official AirAsia customer service contact. According to the airline, the number is not affiliated with the company and is believed to be part of a scam targeting travelers seeking help with their flight bookings.

AirAsia has reminded guests and members of the public to be cautious when encountering customer service contacts shared through unofficial channels. Scammers often impersonate airline representatives in an attempt to obtain sensitive information from suspecting travelers.

They strongly advised the public to avoid calling customer service numbers found on unverified websites or social media platforms posts. And also encouraged the public to be cautious of suspicious links received through messaging platforms such as Whatsapp and to refrain from sharing personal information, booking references or any payment details with individuals whose identities cannot be confirmed. In it’s clarification statement, AirAsia emphasized that it does not operate customer service through phone calls. Instead, all official support services are provided through AskBo, the airline’s digital support platform.

Guests can access AskBo via the AirAsia MOVE app or through AirAsia’s official digital platforms, where they can obtain assistance with flight bookings, schedule changes, travel information and other services in a secure and efficient manner. 

Travelers are encouraged to verify any information through it’s official channels, including AirAsia’s official website and verified social media accounts, particularly as travel activity increases during the Hari Raya period.
