Yoshnaa Logenthiran, a 11-year old dancer from Klang made Malaysia proud as she secured top honours at The Dance of Asia 2026, a international competition that took place in Chengdu, China. Yoshnaa, a student from SJKT Ladang Highlands, won the Gold Award in the Under-13 category, along with a Silver Award for her overall performance throughout the event.
The competition, which brought together talented performers across the Asia-Pacific region, marked Yoshnaa’s first appearance on a international stage. Despite the intensity of the event, Yoshnaa stood out with her confident and graceful performance.

B.Mohanaeswar, her mother who is also an entrepreneur, described the achievement as a meaningful milestone for the family, especially as it is considered Yoshana’s debut beyond local competitors.
The 11 year old, started dancing at the age of 5, where she has spent years refining her craft, dedicating countless hours to training and perfecting her routines. According to her mother, this win is a reflection of that consistent hard work and perseverance.
“Until now, Yoshnaa had only competed at the local level, so this was a completely new experience for her. It was both challenging and exciting, and we are extremely proud of how she performed,” she shared. Recalling the unforgettable moment of watching her daughter shine among international competitors.

S. Logenthiran, her father, also an Assistant Superintendent of Police at Melaka IPK, expressed his pride despite being unable to attend the competition due to work commitments. Following updates and videos, he described the moment Yoshnaa was announced as the winner as one of the proudest of his life, filled with emotion and joy.
The Dance of Asia is a renowned platform celebrating diverse dance forms, from ballet and hip hop to K-pop and Latin styles, making Yoshnaa’s achievement even more significant. As she returns home, her success not only marks a personal milestone but also serves as an inspiring reminder of the potential young Malaysian talents hold on the global stage.
