The Indian cinema achieved major international milestone with three huge films, Dhurandhar, Border 2 and Made in Korea, securing top three sports on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) list. This achievement is the strongest single-week performances for Indian films across all languages on the international streaming platform.
According to Netflix’s latest data for the week of 16th March to 22nd March, Made in Korea claimed the No.1 position, following by Border 2 at No.2 and Dhurandhar at No.3. The films, from different genres, highlights the growing international appeal and diversity of Indian films.
The new success of Dhurandhar comes after the release of it’s sequel in cinemas, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has driven audiences to revisit the first part. Meanwhile, Border 2, is a war drama starring Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh, continues to draw strong audience internationally. Tamil film Made in Korea, starring Priyanka Mohan, has also been a standout hit, leading the global rankings.
Further strengthening India’s presence, another Tamil film, With Love, starring Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan, has also entered the chart, securing the 7th position. The widespread representation across languages reflects Indian films expanding reach beyond regional boundaries.
The milestone builds a rising path for Indian films on global platforms. In the last few months, films like Saiyaara, Jolly LLB, Haq, and Baramulla have been in the Netflix’s Top 10 rankings consistently. Other titles, including Inspector Zende, and Idli Kadai, have also been trending across multiple countries. The film Accused is the first indian film to debut in 72 countries within it’s first week.
Together, these milestones reflects a important shift in global viewing patterns, with Indian cinema continuing to gain recognition among international audience.
