India Gate Restaurant has earned a regional recognition for being officially listed in the ASEAN Records for achieving the highest number of biryani plates sold in a year by an Indian restaurant in Malaysia.

India Gate has recorded 649,567 plates of biryani sold last year (2025), across it’s 13 restaurant outlets, marking a significant milestone for the homegrown brand for serving authentic North and South Indian halal cuisine. The recognition highlights not only a high and strong customer demand, but their ability to maintain quality and consistency.

India Gate Restaurant was established in 2017, and has grown a prominent name in Malaysia’s food industry. Its menu features 147 dishes, spanning a wide range of culinary traditions, like Mughal, Tandoor, and Chettinad specialties, with catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices.

A important factor behind the brand’s success is it’s operational approach. By implementing centralised kitchen systems and standardised preparation methods, India Gate ensures consistency in quality and taste across all outlets. Allowing the customers to enjoy the same dining experience regardless of the location.
Guided by it’s mission that “Everyone can Fine Dine”, the restaurant focuses on delivering high quality meals at accessible and reasonable price. This balances the authenticity and affordability to a broad customer base.

Apart from it’s physical outlets, India Gate Restaurant has also adapted to changing consumer habits by offering online offering and delivery services, making it’s offering more accessible to customer across Malaysia.
The ASEAN Records certificate was presented on 11th March 2026, during the ASEAN Records 8th Gather of Achievers in Andaman Seafood Village in KL. The award was received by founder and manager director Saravanan Subramaniam.
