In a surprising turn of events, popular singer Gaana Dinesh has voiced concerns regarding the unauthorized use of his hit song in the recently released film Youth. Dinesh’s catchy track, “Naan aasai patta ponnu peru monisha,” which gained immense popularity and went viral among fans, has sparked a dispute following its inclusion in the movie.
Youth, which hit theaters on March 19, 2026, features a talented cast including Ken Karunaas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshni Chetan, and Anishma Anilkumar, among others. Dinesh has expressed his disappointment, claiming that the film’s team did not seek his permission to use his song, leading him to question the ethics of their decision.
In response to the singer’s allegations, the production team behind Youth has defended their actions by stating that the song was under the management of Divo Music. They assert that all necessary permissions were secured and that they paid all applicable fees to properly authorize the song’s use.
This response has added another layer to the ongoing discussion about artist rights and the handling of music in the film industry.
