According to Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, the redevelopment of SJKT Dengkil has been progressing ahead of schedule, with completion now expected earlier than planned.

Speaking at the project site, he said that the construction reached 65.14 per cent completion, surpassing the original target which was 50 per cent in March. This makes the project over 15 per cent ahead of schedule and approximately 70 days in advance of it’s contract timeline.

“With this excellent progress, we hope to bring forward the completion date from the original target of 12th October this year,” he said, adding that efforts are ongoing to accelerate further, potentially up to 90 days ahead of schedule.
The RM13.3 million redevelopment project, was approved in 2022 under the 12th Malaysia Plan. It aims to replace old and unsafe school buildings. The upgraded facilities includes two main blocks, an administration block and academic block with 8 classrooms, and a new preschool buildings with 2 classrooms, as well as a open hall space.

Once completed, the school will be equipped with important furnitures, and learning facilities, allowing the learning activities to be carried out in a more comfortable and conductive environment.
In addition to academic facilities, the project includes improvement on basic infrastructure like new sewerage system and enhanced drainage to address recurring flood issues. Wong noted that while there have been minor coordination challenges involving agencies like Indah Water Konsortium, and Air Selangor, these are expected to be resolved through close operation.

Despite this ongoing construction, the school continues to operate with safety measures, like proper site management, and hoarding installation in place. Wong emphasised that student and staff safety remains top priority.
With steady progress and improved facilities, the redevelopment of SJKT Dengkil provides a better learning environment for it’s students.
