In celebration of Vaisakhi, a significant festival observed by the Sikh community worldwide, Dato Sivanesan made a meaningful visit to Gurdwara Sahib Buntong in Ipoh. This Gurdwara has served as a vital spiritual and community hub for Sikhs in the Buntong area for many years, playing a crucial role in fostering community spirit and cultural practices.
During his visit, Dato Sivanesan highlighted the importance that the Perak State Government values the cultures and religions that contribute to the strength and harmony of the state. He conveyed the government’s commitment to support all communities in their endeavors to maintain and enhance their religious institutions and cultural heritage, recognizing these elements as essential to the society.

In a demonstration of this support, Gurdwara Sahib Buntong received RM60,000 last year for its phase 1 renovation, which significantly improved its facilities. This year, the State Government has approved an additional budget of RM80,000 for phase 2 of the renovation project, reflecting a continued investment in the Gurdwara’s development and the community it serves.

Furthermore, Dato Sivanesan underscored the significant role the Sikh community plays not only in local development but also in the broader scope of state and national progress. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the community’s unwavering contributions, particularly in fostering unity among diverse groups and their charitable efforts, which have positively impacted many lives. This acknowledgment serves to reinforce the collaborative spirit among different communities in Perak, celebrating their shared values and commitment to growth and cooperation.
