After the success of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, ace director Mani Ratnam is busy with the pre-production of his dream project Ponniyin Selvan. Many big stars like Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Vikram is reportedly on board for the film. Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have been approached to play a crucial role in the movie.
The update is that Ponniyin Selvan will reportedly go on floors sometime in November. Chiyaan Vikram will reportedly essay Aditya Karikalan while Karthi will play Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, Jayam Ravi will portray Raja Raja Chola I, actress Keerthy Suresh will feature as Kundavai, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai as Nandini and Tollywood actor Mohan Babu will reportedly step into the shoes of Periya Pazhuvettarayar. However, there is still no official word on this yet.
Mani Ratnam’s film will have some high octane action sequences, and the actors are bracing up for their roles in the movie. To prep up for their characters in Ponniyin Selvan, the lead artists are developing attractive manes. An adaptation of late Kalki ‘Krishnamurthy’s historical novel with the same name, Ponniyin Selvan will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
