Rumours were going around on social media that the official remake of recent Kannada blockbuster Mufti, which marks the first time union of Simbu and Gautham Karthik and directed by debutant Narthan has been dropped. It was said Producer Gnanavel Raja had taken this decision since Simbu failed to turn up for shoots.
“We are planning for the second schedule. The news that the film has been dropped is false.”
The film is an official remake of recent Kannada blockbuster Mufti, starring Shivrajkumar, Srimurali, Shanvi Srivastav and Chaya Singh. The film was centered on a police officer, played by Srimurali, who goes head to head with an underworld boss, played by Shivrajkumar.
Simbu will be seen playing the underworld boss and Gautham Karthik will don khaki for the first time in the role of a police officer.
Simbu who is was on a long vacation had recently returned to Chennai from Thailand is expected to honour long-pending professional commitments. It may be noted one of his projects Maanadu which was on pre-production stage for a long time was dropped recently.
In a statement which was released by the film’s producer, Suresh stated that he’s tired of waiting for the project to take off, and has finally decided to shelve the idea of making it with Simbu. He thanked Simbu for initially agreeing to be part of the project which will be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Simbu soon indirectly retaliated by announcing his new film titled Maghaamaanaadu.
Simbu is also making an extended cameo in Hansika Motwani’s 50th film has been titled Maha. Apparently, the actor’s portion will appear in the flashback and he plays the role named Shoiab.
