Rumours were going around on social media that the official remake of recent Kannada blockbuster Mufti, which marks the first time union of Simbu and Gautham Karthik and directed by debutant Narthan has been dropped. It was said Producer Gnanavel Raja had taken this decision since Simbu failed to turn up for shoots.

“We are planning for the second schedule. The news that the film has been dropped is false.”

The film is an official remake of recent Kannada blockbuster Mufti, starring Shivrajkumar, Srimurali, Shanvi Srivastav and Chaya Singh. The film was centered on a police officer, played by Srimurali, who goes head to head with an underworld boss, played by Shivrajkumar.

Simbu will be seen playing the underworld boss and Gautham Karthik will don khaki for the first time in the role of a police officer.
