Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s acclaimed multi-genre film Super Deluxe has bagged a nomination at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, known as the AACTA Awards. The awards are annually presented by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA).
Super Deluxe is among the nine films from across the Asian region that have been nominated for this year’s AACTA Award for Best Asian Film. The other nominees include Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun, Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, Bong Joon-Ho’s Korean film Parasite, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes this year, and Zhang Yimou’s Shadow.
This is the latest honour that Super Deluxe has received in Australia. The film was screened at the Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne in August and Vijay Sethupathi won the Best Actor at the festival for his role as a transgender woman. The film had also been nominated under the Best Director and the Best Film categories.
Congrats to the whole team!
