Kangana Ranaut has begun shooting for the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Titled Thalaivi, the project will be directed by AL Vijay.
Producer of the film Vishnu Induri tweeted, “Journey of #Thalaivi starts today. The actor has trained Bharatnatyam for the role. She was also recently in Los Angeles for the look test and it went viral on Twitter.
There are also reports doing the rounds that actors Jagapathi Babu, Jayasudha and Sathyaraj will be playing crucial roles. The film will be shot and released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi the film is being bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh under the banners of Vibri & Karma Media and Entertainment.
GV Prakash has been roped in to compose music and Nirav Shah will crank the camera.
It may be noted that J Deepa niece of Jayalalithaa had filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court for a permanent injunction restraining film director AL Vijay and from making a biopic and on acclaimed director Gautham Menon from making a web series based on her aunt’s life. The case came before Justice K Kalyanasundaram on Tuesday and he has deferred his verdict after hearing arguments.
