Dr Burn Launches His Own Record Label – Sollisai Records

Malaysian rapper, lyricist and hip hop producer Dr Burn has launched his own record label, Sollisai Records. Popularly known as Sollisai Thalaivan, Dr Burn pays homage to the iconic term he coined, Sollisai, with this new venture.

He took to Instagram to make the announcement, revealing the first phase of the label’s artists. They are Simha, Marvellous Vish, Secular, Mathura Bashinii, B.L.K and Dr Burn himself.

Born Ruban Manoharan, Dr Burn has been a prominent figure in the in the Malaysian Tamil hip hop scene for more than two decades.

He was previously part of the duo Natchatra, along with Emcee Jesz. They spectacular run with internationally acclaimed Malaysian Tamil hip hop artist, Yogi B and their album Vallavan was a worldwide hit. Dr Burn then went on to work in the Tamil film music industry, and has worked with some big names like Dharan, Simbu and Harris Jayaraj.

His most recent piece of work on our shores is the tune Azhagana Nyayiru, written and performed for the upcoming Malaysian Tamil film, Metro Maalai.
