Annan da, ellorukumey avan annan da, mannan da annavam vettaiyadum mannan da – Yogi B
The newest tune from Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Darbar features international award winning Malaysian Tamil hip hop legend, Yogi B.
Cleverly titled Thani Vazhi, after Rajinikanth’s punch dialogue from the film Padayappa, the tune was also penned by Senthuzhan and Shan, in addition to Yogi B himself.
Yogi B is the lead singer of the track, with his rap taking center stage of the 3 minute 40 second song, while composer Anirudh and backup vocals Shaktisree Gopalan handle the chorus.
Thani Vazhi is probably Yogi B’s fiercest track for Thalaivar in recent times, and we cannot wait to hear what else the rapper has in store for the future.
Yogi B performed alongside Anirudh at the Darbar audio launch held earlier today, in Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.
Born Yogeswaran Veerasingam, Yogi B began as a rapper with Malaysian hip hop band, Poetic Ammo in the 90s. He went on to work on the Malaysian Tamil album, Vallavan with Natchatra. The collaboration made waves worldwide. Yogi B then went on to work in the Tamil music industry in South India, and has worked with big names such as SP Balasubrahmanyam, Yuvan Shankar Raaja and A R Rahman.
More power to you, Yogi B.
