Vijay’s Bigil has broken many records and raked in one of the highest collections of this year’s releases. Now, it’s also been revealed that the film was ranked among the top 10 most tweeted hashtags in 2019.

The film was the sixth most trending hashtag of the year, followed by #diwali, #avengersendgame, #ayodhyaverdict, and #eidmubarak. The top 5 trends for 2019 were #LokSabhaElections2019, #Chandrayaan2, #CWC19, #Pulawama, and #Article 370.
Bigil starring Vijay and Nayantara was released for Deepavali this year. The film was well-received by fans and critics alike and went on to make a killing at the box office. There was some controversy surrounding the film after a Telugu short filmmaker named Nandi Chinni Kumar accused director Atlee of plagiarising the story, however, it had a smooth release.
