Louisa, Neha, Prissha and Pritha Make the Top 18 Finalists of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020

The Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) recently announced the Top 18 finalists of the Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 competition.

Law student Louisa Ananthan, accounting graduate Neha Varma and hotelier Prissha Gerald, all 21, are part of the Miss Universe Malaysia Top 18. News presenter Pritha Manivannan, 26, is also a part of the 18 finalists.

Chua Xing Er, Serene Chai Yong Bin, Rindsay Laige, Quinn Fung, Meme Yaw, Yong Meei Yeng, Haylynn Tan, Gladys Liew, Francisca Luhong, Ooi Erjun, Chloe Ching, Charissa Chong, Celine Foo and Adelina Chan make up the rest of the finalists.

Datin Elaine Daly, the National Director of MUMO said that after several rounds of auditions over the past three months, the organisers are thrilled to present the final Top 18 finalists from across Malaysia.

“These finalists have shown something special in them, not just beauty, but strength in character, determination and ambition,” she says. “As national director, it is truly an honour and privilege to be able to mentor our top 18 finalists in this competition.”

The theme for 2020 is ’Beauty Beyond You’.  The contestants will be championing a cause close to their hearts. They will use the Miss Universe Malaysia platform to raise awareness in support of their cause.

MUMO have included girls from different backgrounds and various achievements, some with personal challenges, but they all have one common goal – to become the next Miss Universe Malaysia 2020.

The girls are currently undergoing Boot Camp Week, the Top 18 finalists are living together and going through a series of training sessions including makeovers, catwalk training, fitness sessions, makeup workshops, photo shoots, and a number of challenges.

Competition is expected to be stiff, and all girls will need to have strong spirit and mind to get through this grueling week. The finalists will be featured in an online show, The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 consisting of 18 episodes of their personal profiles to be aired starting 23rd January 2020, followed by 10 episodes of their journey leading to the crowning of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 on online lifestyle channel, www.hurr.tv.

These webisodes will also be available on the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) YouTube channel and hurr.tv mobile app.

The crowning of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 will take place on 5th March 2020 at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. As Miss Universe Malaysia 2020, the winner will have the opportunity of a lifetime to travel abroad representing the country at the Miss Universe pageant at a yet-to-be-revealed location.

The winner will also receive a cash prize and sponsored prizes with a combined value of RM 180,000 and a full education scholarship from HELP University.
