Darbar has been performing extremely well at the box office. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, is a cop thriller where the police officer goes on a mission to put an end to the drug menace.
Much to the surprise of fans, Lyca Productions, who has bankrolled Darbar, released a statement saying that they are removing a couple of controversial scenes in the film.

In a statement, the production house said, “In Darbar, particular words and dialogues having references to prisoners or inmates going out of jail or prison during their imprisonment term was only included with an intention of providing entertainment to the audience and is not intended to refer to any specific individual or to offend anyone. However, since some of those particular words seemed to have hurt some people, we have hereby decided to remove the same from the film.”
The film’s comedy timing was appreciated by critics and audience. In a scene, a character takes a jibe at a famous personality going shopping when she’s in prison. In another scene, a top police official reveals that a prisoner in the South goes out by using a proxy.
It is safe to say that AR Murugadoss’s dialogues took a shot at Sasikala. She was accused of stepping out of prison to go shopping and videos of Sasikala went viral on social media.
