Jiiva is going to star alongside Ranveer Singh in the upcoming film 83. This will be his Hindi debut.
He has been roped in to play the role of Tamil Nadu cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth in the film.
The film by Khabir Khan is mainly about cricket and how the team won the World Cup. Hence, there won’t be much scope to explore the personal lives of each player.
It is revealed that Jiiva has started training under Srikkanth and has dedicated two hours every day to practice cricket.
The first look poster of the film was released amidst grand fanfare in Chennai on Saturday evening. Lead actor Ranveer Singh and his boys in blue, or rather ‘Kapil’s Devils’ were at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium looking sharp in matching suits for the launch.
The production team has revealed that the movie will be release on 30th August 2020.
