Chinmayi Sripaada took to her Instagram to share about a Twitter thread that speaks about Oscar-award winning producer Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of multiple sexual assaults. He was pronounced guilty by the judges two years after multiple women accused him of sexual assault.
She expressed her agony over the pending justice for women post the #MeToo movement. She pointed out how celebrities namely, Vairamuthu, Karthik and Anu Malik, were allegedly involved in sexual misconduct without facing any repercussions. She wrote, “It could take 13 women so far against Vairamuthu…Scores of people banned by Mr Radha Ravi….Multiple girls naming Mr Anu Malik, Kailash Kher or Singer Karthik or Raghu Dixit but hey (sic).”
Mr Vairamuthu could have 13+ women naming him. Mr Radha Ravi can ban whomsoever he wants if they question him and complain about sexual harassment.
Both men will be platformed by DMK / BJP respectively.

In another tweet, she added, “Mr. Karthik – At least 7 women including a singer in Switzerland. She put out an Instagram post months after Oct 2017, unaware of the #MeToo movement in India; At least 3 of the women who accused him are have nothing to do with the film industry. Gets platformed by Isha (sic).”
Singer Karthik performed during the Mahasivarathri celebrations at the Isha Yoga ashram in Coimbatore, India.
Mr Kailash Kher – Got platformed by AAP and multiple other Govt events.
Mr. Raghu Dixit; Mr. M J Akbar still a BJP member, no?
Narayanan, President of Tamilnadu Brahmin Association – no action. There was an attempt at an investigation but the man is another Mr. Radha Ravi.

She also said how women in India are being trained not to complain and retaliate, “Women are trained to not retaliate, to not complain, to not question. And to some of us that raise our heads after being tired of normalising the abuse even if women themselves shame us – Why now / why so late etc (sic),” she posted. Chinmayi is the only celebrity down South who is still fighting for justice for the women.

The #MeToo movement came to India in 2017 when law student Raya Sarkar compiled a list of alleged sexual harassers in the Indian academia.
Later, in 2018, singer Chinmayi Sripaada took to her social media page to accuse award-winning lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual misconduct. She stood in solidarity with many anonymous women who had an unfortunate encounter with Karthik, Vairamuthu and Anu Malik.
