The Sri Kandaswamy Temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur has postponed all their Maha Kumba Abishegam ceremonies from the 22nd up until the 30th of March 2020.
The temple authorities took to social media to make the announcement. The postponement was said to be made in adherence to the Malaysian government’s directive and advisory from the Malaysia Hindu Sangam on the avoidance of mass public gatherings.
A Maha Kumba Abishegam is a Hindu temple ritual that is believed to homogenise, synergise and unite the mystic powers of the deity. It is part of the consecration ceremony of Hindu temples.
The temple authorities also urged devotees to take exceptional care of their health during this critical period.
