MyEG Introduces Covid-19 Rapid Testing Kit in Malaysia and the Philippines

My E.G. Services Berhad announced today the introduction of a rapid testing kit for the COVID-19 virus in Malaysia and the Philippines, an innovation that offers improved testing convenience, efficacy and comfort over existing methods.

MYEG is currently awaiting approval by local authorities for the use of the kits and will start accepting pre-orders on its online portal www.myeg.com.my in Malaysia and myeg.ph in the Philippines. The kit will be priced at RM99 each and sold in packs of 10 at RM990.

Developed by a leading diagnostics company and approved by health authorities in China where it is presently widely used, the COVID-19 kit enables the qualitative detection of the virus through blood samples including those obtained from finger-pricking. Samples are applied to test strips to detect the COVID19 IgM and IgG antibodies, which are produced within 3-7 days of infection and are suitable to be used as a means of early diagnostic detection.

The test kits can accurately and rapidly detect the presence of the COVID-19 virus in individuals without the need for nose or throat swabs, and generate test results on-site within 30 minutes, with no requirement for samples to be sent to external diagnostic laboratories.

These advantages make the test kits well-suited for the screening of suspected cases and high risk groups, in particular for the rapid testing of visitors or returning travellers entering the country.

In addition, for the convenience of organisations wishing to provide COVID-19 tests for their personnel, MYEG is collaborating with approved medical facilities to offer on-site testing conducted by trained healthcare professionals at the organisations’ respective premises.

The introduction of the test kit is the latest innovation launched by MYEG aimed at providing governments with much-needed solutions to effectively contain the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which has recently been classified as a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

The kit is now available as a pre-order on www.myeg.com.my
