Singaporean Tamil Artistes Thank Migrant Workers in Touching Video

A group of Singaporean Tamil artistes have come together to lift the spirits of the many migrant workers who make up the bulk of the Covid-19 cases in the island-city.

The artists took thanked the migrant brothers who have played a huge part in developing the country. 19 artistes took part in this initiative. The video has since gone viral and has been receiving overwhelming positive feedback on social media within 24 hours.

This video is the brainchild of Manju Balakrishnan. Along with her, Jaya Rathakrishnan, Anuratha Kanderaju and Naveen also worked on giving life to the group’s appreciation. Manju hopes that this video could give people the strength to soldier on through this pandemic.

The video features Saravanan Ayyavoo, Eswari Gunasagar, Dhivyah Davina Raveen, Bharathi Rani, Jaenani Netra, Elamaran Natarajan, Vadi PVSS, Vicknesvari, Udaya Soundari, Anandha Kannan, Gayathri Segaran, Karthikeyan S, Vishnu M. Anandh, Kokila Prabakaran, Vikneswary, and Sajini.

Yesterday alone, Singapore confirmed 897 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon taking the national total to 12,075. A total of 853 of Friday’s cases were work permit holders residing in dormitories.
