Dr. Vishna Rasiah, a Malaysia-born specialist working at the Women’s and Children’s NHS Trust in Birmingham, has passed away due to complications resulting from Covid-19.
The neonatologist died at the age of 48, leaving behind his wife and a daughter.
According to the NHS Trust Chief Executive Sarah-Jane Marsh, Dr. Vishna was an amazing doctor, leader, colleague and friend who was passionate about the his field of specialisation.
“Losing him in such a cruel and unfair way will be too much to bear for many of us, in particular anyone involved in neonatal care, and of course his beautiful wife and daughter. As our tears flow, we must always remember the values that Vish stood for, and hold his vision, courage and compassion in our hearts. God bless you Wish, and may you rest in peace,” she said in a tribute posted on Friday.
Dr Rasiah’s wife, Liza, said “We are devastated at losing our beloved Vish. He was such a loving husband and father to our beautiful daughter Katelyn, and much-loved son and brother to our family in Malaysia and Trinidad”.
The Varnam team extends our deepest condolences to the family members of Dr Vishna.
