Due to a recent shortage of blood, Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) is pleading the donors to continue donating blood and help replenish stockpile of vital fluids. It is said that blood supplies are diminishing.

“In Malaysia, O is the most common blood type, followed by A and B and the rarest being AB blood type.” However, along with the increase in new donors, the need for blood units has also increased. Therefore, National Blood Centre is still urging the public to donate blood.

HTF said that the hospital has only received 649 blood bags as of January this year, despite the fact that they want 700 to 800 bags each month.

“Donating blood is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give blood. Blood donors are not at risk of contracting Covid-19 through the blood donation process.”

If you have any idea of doing blood donation, you may approach the places which been listed by National Blood Centre.
