E-Hailing Driver Shanker Vellu helped a senior citizen who was lying in the middle of the road near the Segambut LRT station.
A week ago, Shanker noticed the elderly man lying on the street while on his daily drive and decided to check on him. The latter was weak, but managed to tell Shanker that he was living alone in Taman Desa Jaya.
Shanker then called for an ambulance and paid for the elderly man’s hospital bills.
“I called for an ambulance and at that moment another concerned lady stopped by to give the man much-needed food and money. I proceeded to follow the ambulance to Hospital Kuala Lumpur and helped out with the uncle’s registration at the healthcare facility,” Shanker said.
Currently, the elderly man is still hospitalised.
