A group of friends have come together to help the many families affected by the movement control order (MCO) resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. Calling themselves Reaching Hearts, this group of youngsters have been distributing food aid to the underprivileged, and low-income families.
They have also been serving orphanages and elderly citizens who live on their own. The founder of this group, Janahan Arumugam, launched the Zero Hunger Fund shortly after the MCO was declared.
Since the start of the project, more than 300 families in Selangor have been receiving food aid and provisions regularly. Each food pack lasts about 2 weeks for a family.
The team has also undertaken other service initiatives including feeding stray animals, charity projects and a Youth Development Programme.
Kudos to the entire Reaching Hearts team!
