Perak Footballer J Parthiban is Ready to Get Back on the Pitch

Perak footballer J Parthiban is all set to get back onto the pitch after a 3 month break. The Tambun lad said that he was not able to train to his maximum capacity for the past few months due to the government imposed movement control order (MCO).

“I have been accomplishing additional work during the Movement Control Order (MCO) and went to the nearest field when the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) started,” he said to The Star.

Parthiban could only do indoor workouts up until May. Once the restrictions were lifted, he took to the nearby field to practice his sprints. He added that he has done extra workouts besides the ones given by his team’s fitness coach.

“I am glad to say, I still have it, but I want to play football. Training is set to resume, and I cannot wait to get started. I will build my strength so I will be ready to face the defenders when the time comes as it will be no-body contact during training.” he said.

All Perak players had a swab test done to rule out Covid-19. They will be resuming their training next Monday once they receive the all clear.

The shortened league will be played over one round instead of two. Perak is currently in second place with 8 points after 4 matches.

Parthiban said any team could win the title and consistency is key. He also added that players should plan their recovery and training well so they could cope up with it.

“Perak is my home state, so obviously, I want to do my best, which is to get goals and assists at the same time. I would love to win something for the team too, and it can be any of the trophies.”

Keep up the good work, Parthiban!
