Pilot Gaurav Taneja, recently tweeted that he had been suspended by Air Asia India for standing up for safe operations of an aeroplane and its passengers. He was then suspended by the airline.
Today I have been officially suspended from @AirAsiaIndian for standing up for safe operations of an aircraft and its passengers.@AwakenIndia #SabkeLiye

On Monday, he posted a detailed video on his YouTube channel, titled “Reasons behind suspension from my pilot job.”
Gaurav alleged the airline has instructed its pilots to do 98% of landings in Flap 3 mode, which results in lesser fuel usage. He said if a pilot does not do 98% of landings in Flap 3 mode, the airline considers it a violation of its standard operating procedure (SOP).
“To accomplish targets, they will do Flap 3 landings without considering whether it is safe or unsafe. This directly impacts the passenger safety,” Gaurav stated in his video.
Observing the issue, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of India took to Twitter to affirm that an interrogation concerning the issue will be taken. He also guaranteed that fundamental advances will be attempted after the findings of the interrogation.
