Oxford University Awards Sabah Based Dr Giri Shan Rajahram a Full Scholarship

A Sabah-based doctor, Dr. Giri Shan Rajahram, who specialises in infectious diseases, recently received the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.

This is a highly competitive scholarship which is awarded to outstanding graduate students from developing and emerging economies, with the aim of funding their studies in Oxford so they may use their knowledge to serve their home countries.

Dr. Giri was successfully granted a place to study International Health and Tropical Medicine at the university, and is determined to further his studies in the area as he believes that emerging infectious diseases will continue to be a threat in the future.

Dr. Giri was also recognised by his clinical work and research in infectious disease especially in the field of malaria.

A huge congratulations to Dr. Giri for achieving such a great scholarship! He is truly an inspiration to many.
