Rumors that singer S. Janaki passed away have been widespread since Sunday morning. Janaki’s family members refuted the reports and confirmed after having a small surgery that she is stable and healthy.
S.P. Balasubrahmanyam was upset with the death hoax of the legendary singer. He took to Facebook and shared a video message.
This is not the first time these stories have gone viral about the playback singer. Back in 2016 and 2017, rumors spread that she had passed away.
Janaki is one of the most talented singers who started her career in 1957. She performed more than 48,000 songs in 17 Indian languages before her retirement in 2016.
The veteran vocalist received 4 National awards and 32 state film awards during her career.
