Is creativity the mother of invention?
Yes! Tamil school students have always been in the lead when it comes to brilliant invention especially in field of Science and Technology.
Living up to their call, five pupils from SJK (T) Pusat Telok Datok, Banting represented Malaysia in the E-NNOVATE 2020 which was held in Poland from 6th to 8th of July 2020.
The young inventors, comprising Taarshini Umaparam, Kavinesh Ganesan, Kanieysh Baskaran, Mathangi Palanikumar, and Thayalan Rajasegaran proved their deep passion for science which earned them a gold medal in the E-NNOVATE (International Innovation Fair).
They’ve invented the Domestic Aluminium Can Compactor (DACC). The device is known as an eco-friendly tool that helps to protect the environment and depletion of natural resources. The mechanical properties of the device can easily recycle aluminium cans into small environmentally friendly packages.
The competition saw the participation from 13 other countries and guess what? This is not the school’s first award, the students emerged as winners of a similar competition in Bali, Indonesia last year. The same team had struck a gold medal and swept an amount of RM 296 in the science exhibition.
