This year’s much talked-about movie Sughamaai Subbulakshmi will be hitting cinemas nationwide on Thursday, May 17.
The movie is directed by one of Malaysia’s most promising director, Karthik Shamalan, and it stars the likes of Saresh D7, Kuben Mahadevan, Punitha Shanmugam, and Bagya Arivuckarasu, among others.
According to the lead actor, or the hero, Saresh D7, Karthik Shamalan is a perfectionist who pays attention to every detail in the movie.
“He knows what he’s doing. The screenplay is great, the way he’s written my character is great. He did all the hard work. All I had to do was bring that character to life,” Saresh said during a press conference last week.
“If you think I did a great job in the movie, then all the credit goes to Karthik. He’s a brilliant director,” Saresh added.
Sughamaai Subbulakshmi revolves around a young boy who struggles to pursue his passion in life – while dealing with all that it entails. Can he strike a balance between what loves, what he wants, and what he needs?
