Scouting talent and nurturing them is not an easy task, especially when students have to represent the school during the recovery phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Yet, an amazing accomplishment came after five students from SJK (T) Batu Caves struck gold medals in the online competition organised by the Malaysia Young Scientists Conference & Exhibition – MYSCE 2020! Their project was based on TAB – Toxic Air Buster. It was designed to alert pupils from toxic gas exposure, hence saving many lives.

Parasuran A/L Kanagaraja, Dharrshan Shree A/L Viganeswaran, Tanish A/L Dhurairaju, Praveen Sathiya, and Rivesha A/P Prabakaran are among the five students who took home gold medals.

Malaysia Young Scientists Organisation (MYSO) has a vision to be a catalyst in creating an atmosphere of research mindedness in elementary and secondary school levels, and be a facilitator to the teachers in improving the capability in mentoring and facilitating their students in the area of research.

The online competition is designed to recognise and reward young people’s achievements in all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, engineering and mathematics) and help them build skills.

While it is a joyous moment for all, the students and teachers have put in a lot of hard work by relentlessly training and preparing for the competition.
