Yenggugiren fame, Gowri Arumugam has recently made an announcement about her new single, Poraadu. She’s going to be working with Ztish who made us insane with his Ennai Kollathey song back in 2016. This announcement was made in both their respective official social media platforms on 5th September 2020 and the title was announced on 14th September 2020.
This newest launch of hers is by Raagawave Production and will feature the 90s sensational singer and actress Fauziah Latiff, popular makeup artist Kannan Raajamanickam and the dazzling actress Jasper Supayah.
Poraadu is not just another normal song, but it has a long list of things to it. First of all, it’s an inspiring song that’s very much needed and wanted at this particular time and it’s for those going through hardship. Poraadu merely means to strive.
Lately, there have been a whole surge of depression, mental health, and suicide problems and cases which triggered Gowri to do this motivational single, working alongside famous music composer, Ztish. Some suggested an idea to create a music video for this single.
Those behind this masterpiece asked why just a music video? why shouldn’t they launch a campaign to help society, more so during these tough and challenging times? That’s when Gowri began a heart-to-heart session where people who have been through extreme storms and depression, shared their stories to create awareness on the need to live, no matter how tough it can be to just survive the day.
During this move, “Solace”, a team of volunteers, had also come together to support those who need to be heard.
The release date of this single has not yet been confirmed, but the single that raises awareness about this social problem should be welcomed as an effort to help those who need it the most; the vulnerable.
